Write it on Your Heart
the ten commandments (2013)
As people, we write: many things in many places. Some of these things are of the utmost importance while others are as simple as a note about not forgetting to pick up milk on the way home. God writes things, too. And His written things matter greatly. In Exodus 34 the Lord says to Moses, " . . . I will write on the tablets the words that were on the former tablets . . ." God wrote down for us what we call the Ten Commandments. They were etched into stone, but they were never meant to stay there, hard rules on hard slate. The words of the Lord were to be etched on our very hearts or to quote Jeremiah 31:33: "I will put My law within them and on their heart I will write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people." Jesus is always about the heart. What things are written on your heart? Tune in to this series to get away from the writing on the wall and inspect the writing on your heart.
How in the World are You Different?
the fruit of the Spirit
The Faith with Feet series focuses on the letter James wrote that deals with how to live the Christian life. In the close of the first chapter, James deals with "True Religion," and claims that part of this pure religion is keeping oneself from being polluted by the world. What does this mean? Are we supposed to shelter ourselves from the world? Are we supposed to build our own sacred hideaways? What even is the world?
In this Summer 2012 aside from "Faith with Feet," Pastor Dan will dig into how to be in the world but not of the world by focusing on the fruit of the Spirit. In a sinful world, these pure traits distinguish between those who are in Christ and those who are of the world. Truly, this fruit makes all the difference.
The Church
Various Scripture (Fall - Winter 2011)
Here is the church, here is the steeple . . . we all know how it goes. In fact, many in this culture can spout all sorts of things about denominations, practices, even architecture of church. But what does God say about His church? What is it really and what is it to be doing? This series takes a look at the global and local idea of church and finds out it is much more than a building and programs.
Are You for Real?
A II Corinthians 13:5 Kind of Test (Summer 2011)
What is a Christian? Is it an American? Is it those who were brought up in church? Is it some sort of inherited trait? Is it merely a Facebook distinction? This series investigates what a Christian is, and more importantly, challenges you with that ultimate question: "Are you for real?"
The Real Thing
II Corinthians (2010 - Summer 2011)
Often people say one thing and openly do another. Churches are no different. Paul recognized this in his day and openly rebuked and challenged counterfeit Christianity and encouraged the real thing. This study will explore authentic Christianity and inform you how to walk after Jesus.
